Design is a team effort. Design projects are undertaken by multi-disciplinary teams. Industrial designers work closely with design engineers and marketers to ensure a holistic approach is taken for each design decision. In the pursuit of success for each design project, teams develop a deep understanding of the area, take total ownership, and possess enormous drive and passion. Our design process and creation techniques are constantly evolving in line with the products we develop. At the heart of the process is the development of a deep and holistic understanding of the issues. Extensive time is dedicated to the brief development phase to develop the ‘big idea’ for the product and ensure it will truly address the latent needs of the workplace. We believe guaranteed outcomes from the design process are only possible if the problem is truly understood.
This deep understanding of the problem, coupled with our ideas culture, gives the team the freedom to think differently and the tenacity to find a way to bring new ideas to life.
Good project management is imperative to ensure that the teams follow the design process and employ the appropriate techniques to make the best decisions and maintain a fast pace for development. Regular stakeholder reviews ensure the development project is measured against the brief, desired outcomes are delivered and timeframes achieved.
The process encourages the use of new and diverse technologies, encouraged by the desire to translate the big idea behind the product. Teams are encouraged to re-think existing ideas and push the boundaries of normal construction and production methods. The studio uses the most advanced CAD software and communication technologies to liaise with partners and suppliers around the globe.
